Lucile Packard Children's Hospital - The Packard Pediatric Weight Control Program
Assess the profitability of this highly regarded LPCH program

The Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Pediatric Weight Control Program (PPWCP) www.healthyweight.lpch.org is a family-based, behavioral and educational program designed to promote healthy eating and exercise habits for overweight children and their families.  It is part of Lucile Packard Children's Hospital's Center for Healthy Weight that is an interdisciplinary, cross-departmental effort to tackle childhood obesity through advances in patient care, state-of-the-art research and the design and development of successful community programs.

Over the past several years, the PPWCP has been very successful in helping overweight children control and decrease their weight: more than 80% of participating children have decreased their level of overweight, with an average decrease of about 11%.  Achieving profitability however has been challenging.  LPCH would like a Community Partners team to evaluate the program and consider ways to achieve profitability without philanthropic support.
