About Community Partners

Our Mission

The mission of HBSANC Community Partners is to facilitate a strong connection between HBS alumni and the Northern California community.  To that end, we

Provide pro bono business and management consulting assistance to Northern California nonprofit organizations and,

Provide opportunities for Harvard Business School alumni in Northern California to channel their interests into community service.

Our Impact

HBS Community Partners was established in 1986 by the Harvard Business School Alumni Association of Northern California to provide alumni the oportunity to apply their business and management skills as volunteer consultants working on challenging and worthwhile projects in the nonprofit sector.

Since then, over 600 HBS alumni have worked on Community Partners projects for over 300 diverse nonprofit organizations throughout the Bay Area. HBS Community Partners provides more than $1.5MM in probono consulting services annually and continues to serve as a model for other HBS club's commmunity service programs.

In 2008 the Community Partners program was honored by the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation  for its commitment to providing volunteer business consulting services to nonprofits in various regions throughout the United States.

Clients Tell Us

"We really appreciated and greatly benefited from the expertise of the team; their work has already had a big impact in moving things forward within our organization. Thank you!"  Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, Pediatric Weight Control Program

"As a small non-profit, the resulting plan driven by the Harvard Community Partners was something we desperately needed, but just could not fit in our budget. Having their expertise on a volunteer basis was truly a dream come true for us, and we're very grateful for their commitment and thrilled with the result."  Napa Valley Grapegrowers
