HBS’ Rock Center for Entrepreneurship and Alumni Relations announce the 2010 Alumni New Venture Contest (NVC). With over half of HBS alumni classifying ourselves as entrepreneurs at some point in our lives, this Contest is designed to shine a spotlight on alumni ventures, provide local HBS Northern California entreprenuership programs, support promising new ventures and award the winning team a $25,000 cash prize.
For 2010, this contest will be conducted in 8 regions, with 11 HBS alumni clubs: Boston, NY, Chicago, Northern CA - SF and Tech Alumni, Southern CA - Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, London, Brazil and India.
In Northern California, this contest will be hosted by 3 clubs- HBSA/NC, HBS Tech Club, and HBS Green Club. There will be specific local awards given to our the HBS Northern California winner that will benefit your promising start-up.
This is a great way to gain broad exposure, get some feedback from seasoned HBS alum, and kickstart your funding efforts.
TIMEFRAME: Registration through (new extended deadline) Feb 12, 2010. Applicants to submit plans and present in late Feb / early March 2010, HBS Northern California Best 2010 New Venture Winner to be announced March 31st 2010. Winner to present at HBS in Boston on April 26, 2010 upon which the 2010 Alumni NVC winner will be announced at School-wide awards ceremony (in conjunction with student business and social venture contests).
