Bob Saldich retired as CEO and President of Raychem Corporation in 1995, after 32 years with the company and six years as President and CEO. Raychem was a New York Stock Exchange company with annual revenues of $1.8 billion which developed and produced and sold technology based products for the industrial world. In 1999, Raychem was merged into TYCO International Corporation.

He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Commonwealth Club of California. He is on the Advisory Board of the Gardner Center for Youth and their Communities at Stanford University.

He has served on the Boards of the American Leadership Forum of Silicon Valley, the Silicon Valley Conference for Community and Justice and  as Co-Chair of the Outreach Advisory Board of the University of California. He has served as Chair of the Harvard Business School Club of Northern California and was Chairman in 1994/5 of the American Electronics Association and on the Visiting Committee of the Harvard Business School from 1993 to 1998. He served for six years on the Visiting Committee on Advanced Technology of the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

He lives with his wife, Virginia, in Palo Alto, California and they share five children and ten grandchildren. Saldich graduated in 1956 as a Chemical Engineer from the Rice Institute and in 1961 with an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
